Unblocking an in-house design project with our plug-and-play service
Sunrise Medical is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wheelchairs. They came to us with the following problem: they were approaching a project launch but their in-house industrial design team were overloaded - and there were issues negotiating between the requirements of the various internal development teams.
The three main components - the drive train, the batteries and the external enclosure - had competing requirements but were being worked on by separate teams. We took the CAD files and were able to work more holistically to solve the design issues, developing a configuration which fitted all the requirements and constraints.
The entire project was delivered in just eight weeks - from the initial brief through to returning a complete set of manufacturing files, in their format, ready for production.
The Quickie powered wheelchair rapidly became their fastest selling product.
