Robotic Gait Trainer
Design and development of a technology demonstrator of a machine to aid sit-to-stand, balance and walking
We were invited to join a consortium to raise funding and develop the idea. A series of user workshops helped us to co-create the functional requirements and the user requirements with a wide range of stakeholders.
Funding was successfully raised from Innovate UK, UK Intellectual Property Office, EIT Health, NW Fund for Biomedical, NIHR i4i and matched by individual partners.
Several iterations of design were developed and prototyped, utilising direct manufacture techniques, so that they could be assessed with a gait lab and with healthy individuals.
